Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) is seeking proposals from an individual consultant or firm to conduct, coordinate, and manage all aspects of preparing a 28,000-square-foot, two-story commercial building for SVCE's occupation as its new headquarters. The building, located in Downtown Sunnyvale, was substantially rehabilitated in 2020 and is now an empty shell. The consultant will essentially serve as an in-house project manager and expert for the development of the building, which will contain working areas for SVCE employees, collaborative meeting rooms, a community space, a publicly accessible boardroom, and other amenities for staff and members of the community. The consultant will be responsible for design coordination (developing scope of work for design, soliciting bids from design/architecture firms, reviewing design documents), construction management (soliciting bids from construction management and construction firms, administering agreements, managing requests for information and change orders), and serving as the primary point of contact throughout the project. Qualified individuals who do not currently have a consulting business or affiliation may respond to this RFP and be added to the SVCE staff as a temporary nonbenefitted employee. This work is anticipated to begin in April 2025 and be completed in 2026.
