Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) is seeking proposals for a comprehensive analysis of building electrification solutions. The project aims to identify characteristics that impact the cost, technical feasibility, and timeline to electrify residential and commercial buildings, organize these characteristics into building typologies, assess electrification solutions for each typology, and determine the saturation of each typology across SVCE and Peninsula Clean Energy (PCE) territories. The study will focus specifically on water heating and HVAC electrification, particularly equipment regulated under Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) Rules 9-4 and 9-6 with 2027 and 2029 implementation dates. This analysis will help accelerate building electrification by informing current and future CCA programs and will directly inform SVCE's feasibility assessment for natural gas phase-out by 2045.
