Greenville Utilities Commission is requesting quotes for the design and construction of foundation systems and electrical conduit installation for a 10MW generator site. The work includes furnishing and installing five reinforced concrete generator pads measuring 12'-11" by 44'-1" each with four stair pads per foundation. The scope encompasses installation of eight 4-inch conduits and two 2-inch conduits from each foundation to the existing transformer, demolition and hauling of all excavation spoils, and site grading and backfilling to restore grade levels.
The contractor is responsible for all materials, labor, supervision, equipment, and supplies necessary for complete foundation and conduit installation. Work must conform to the latest editions of the National Electrical Code, North Carolina Building Code, National Electric Safety Code, and National Fire Protection Association Codes. Concrete shall meet ACI specifications with a minimum 28-day compressive strength of 4,500 psi for general use, with proper air entrainment and water-to-cement ratio of 0.45 maximum.
Key dates include a deadline for all questions to be submitted by email by 5:00pm EDT on September 2, 2025. Quotations must be received by 2:00pm EDT on September 9, 2025 at the Greenville Utilities Commission office. The contractor must submit a complete materials and equipment list within ten working days of contract award and all submittals must be made to the Substation Engineer at the designated address.
The contractor is responsible for all permits, licenses, certifications, and inspections required for permanent and temporary work, excluding those required by the North Carolina Utilities Commission or environmental agencies. Insurance requirements include Workers Compensation in statutory amounts, General Liability of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 aggregate, and Automobile Liability of $250,000 per person and $500,000 per occurrence. All work must be performed in a workmanlike manner and the contractor assumes liability for removal of assets and any necessary remediation or decommissioning.
