Southern California Edison Company (SCE) is issuing this Request for Information to solicit submissions from developers of Renewable Natural Gas also known as biomethane (RNG) and electricity generated from RNG as defined by the California Energy Commission's Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) Eligibility Guidebook. SCE's integrated framework, the Clean Power and Electrification Pathway, outlines the most affordable path for the state to fight climate change, improve air quality, and help California achieve its goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Included in the ongoing implementation of the Pathway are a variety of GHG-reducing technologies, including possibly sourcing electricity from RNG or purchasing RNG as a fuel stock. The purpose of this RFI is to help SCE learn more about the RNG market. SCE, in its sole discretion, may use the information gained in this RFI to create future Request for Offers (RFOs) for RNG and/or electricity generated from RNG.
