San Diego Community Power (SDCP) is seeking proposals from firms to provide government relations and lobbying services. The principal responsibilities of the selected Proposer will be to: (1) build relationships with state elected and appointed officials by formulating strategies to achieve legislative objectives, developing relationships with key California State officials, coordinating meetings, monitoring actions with State regulatory bodies, and engaging with federal policy makers as needed; (2) advance legislative priorities by pursuing policy directives, identifying bills that reflect SDCP's priorities, analyzing legislation that may impact SDCP, writing and distributing letters to legislators, actively lobbying and testifying on bills, and tracking federal legislation as needed; and (3) provide communication and coalition support by developing relationships with key community groups, coordinating meetings or events, advising on communication and messaging strategies, and performing functions related to The California Community Choice Association (CalCCA). The work is expected to commence on or about May 1, 2022 through April 30, 2023 with the potential for SDCP to renew the contract at SDCP's sole discretion.
