San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E) seeks to procure import resources to meet electric system reliability needs with an effective planning reserve margin target of 170-320 MW, as required by California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Proposed Decision Adopting Resource Adequacy Obligations and Program Refinements for 2024-2026. The solicitation seeks offers from owners and operators for the purchase of eligible resource adequacy (RA) that must be available during both peak and net peak demand periods and come online or be operational by June 1, 2024, and/or June 1, 2025. Products solicited include: (1) Firm forward imported energy, as well as imported contracts that ensure delivery during tight system conditions between June 1, 2024 – October 31, 2024, and/or June 1, 2025 – October 31, 2025; (2) The proposed contract term may cover any or all months between June through October and is not limited to the full term between June through October; (3) There is no minimum quantity for the product. SDG&E will utilize the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Master Power Purchase & Sale Agreement or Western Systems Power Pool (WSPP) Agreement to execute any agreement(s) that may result from this RFO.
